Talk to people in classes. It is intimidating when you go to a class and don't know anyone, but casually start up conversation with the person sitting next to you. Ask them how they are preparing for the exam and if they would like to create a study group. This becomes especially helpful when you are later in your major classes, and you start seeing the same people in your classes. It is better to create those relationships early on. But my most important piece of advice is..... don't forget to bring your shower shoes.
