GT Offroad Racing Club, Greek Life, FASET, Student-Alumni Association (SAA)
One essential facet of one's first year at college is a good, strong social network. The broader the social network, the more direct and most helpful resources on campus are available at your fingertips. There's a couple means to this end, and they all can be generalized to joining an Association or organization that can scale down the Georgia Tech population to less than a hundred people. Examples are: Greek Organizations (Professional/Social Sororities and Fraternities), Freshman Leadership Opportunities (FLOs), New Student and Sophomore Programs Student Teams (NSSPs such as FASET, Wreck Camp), Student Competition Center Automotive Racing Teams (SCC), Recreational Activities (DramaTech, Intramurals). Getting involved can improve your academics and quality of life, and the groups you may join can have a direct impact on your life, with members serving as mentors and as a whole creating support systems catered to you. Have fun and get involved if you have the opportunity!
