Psychology (Film & Media Studies Minor)
Best advice for an incoming student:
College for anyone, ANYWHERE, is a difficult and trying time. So when/if you start to feel overwhelmed or lost in all the demands of this new life, remember that EVERYONE around you is currently or has previously gone through the same struggles (and sometimes more!)--there is no shame here. Everyone around you ONLY wants to see you succeed. So if you do start to doubt your ability to make it through.... ALWAYS. ASK. FOR. HELP!!! If not your roommate, your best friend, your PL, your counselor, your professor, your FASET leader, your TA, your big... then you can always come to me (I'm not kidding!). No matter the problem, how big or small-- there will always be help available, if you show the strength to ask for it. Tech loves you, we love you, and I can't wait to see all of the amazing things you do.
Why should you come to Wreck Camp?:The first time I attended Wreck Camp (as an incoming first-year)... I walked out with such joy, community, love, and excitement--that I was convinced those 3 days would forever constitute one of the top 5 experiences of my life. But every year that I've been on staff since... each camp continues to top that first experience. Just when I thought I couldn't get any more out of this incredible program and the people within--a new group of campers brings a new summer of connections, and the magic of Wreck Camp starts all over again. So... why should you come to Wreck Camp? If you want to begin college with one of the most transformative, fun, and enriching experiences you'll ever have; if you want to be loved and accepted with open arms EXACTLY as who you are; if you want to gain priceless knowledge on how to succeed in the challenges of college ahead; and if you want to be FULLY appreciated for all of the amazing things that make you who you are-- then yeah, you should definitely come to Wreck Camp. We will see you there <3
