Best advice for an incoming student:
Get comfortable being uncomfortable! I considered myself to be an introvert before coming to Wreck Camp, and now when I tell this to my friends, they laugh and think I’m joking. It would have taken me a much longer time to realize this if I hadn’t jumped headfirst into situations that terrified me. You are going to be surrounded by a community who knows nothing about what you were like in high school. If you’ve always wished you lived your life a little bit differently, do it! Nothing’s stopping you! That being said, reflect on the values most central to who you are and keep them close. Chances are, you will develop these and learn new ones along the way.
Why should you come to Wreck Camp?:Ohhh Wreck Camp. Wreck Camp is my happy place. It is a crazy magical world in which time stands still and rushes by all at once. You will develop lifelong friends of the course of a couple days and leave in a daze, not sure how it could be possible that you had only known them for less than a week. Wreck Camp will reveal more to you about who you are than you may have realized in a whole year of high school. Most importantly, it spits you out onto campus as a confident leader, ready to do this whole college thing, supported already by a tight knit, inclusive community.
