What is Wreck Camp Extended Orientation?

Wreck Camp is an extended orientation experience that brings together new and current students to jumpstart their college experience in a fun summer camp setting. Wreck Camp programs are designed to aid students in their transition to Georgia Tech by developing a diverse social network and strengthening their ties to the Institute through a combination of fun activities. Students leave all camp programs prepared to be engaged members of our campus community.


Who can attend Wreck Camp?

Georgia Tech is committed to providing all new students with the opportunities and information that will help them achieve their goals and be successful at the Institute. First-year students, transfer students, and new international students are invited to take part in the Wreck Camp experience. 

*Rising second-years are also able to attend this year's experiences, as last year's were canceled*


Cost Of Attendance - What is included?

Wreck Camp ATL (June 25-27, 2021) costs $225 per student to attend this in-person camp. This includes all meals, lodging, a bag and (2) t-shirts. 

Wreck Camp: HIVE Virtual Engagement (July 13-15, 2021) costs $25 per student to attend. This includes a t-shirt and a bag.

Wreck Camp Odyssey (August 11-14, 2021) costs $350 per student to attend this in-person camp. This includes all meals, lodging, transportation to camp, a bag, and (2) t-shirts. If you choose to move into your fall residence hall assignment early, there is an additional cost per student.


Wreck Camp Registration Cancellations 

Wreck Camp ATL students who cancel after June 1st up to fifteen business days before their session will be charged a $50 administrative fee.

Wreck Camp: HIVE Virtual Engagement students who cancel after June 21st up to fifteen business days before their session will be charged a $10 administrative fee.

Wreck Camp Odyssey students who cancel after July 10th up to fifteen business days before their session will be charged a $50 administrative fee.

Students who cancel before the dates listed above for their program will not see a fee charged to their student account. The $50 fee is only assessed for those who cancel after the dates posted up to fifteen business days before their session. Students who cancel fifteen business days or less will be charged the full fee of the program they are registered to attend. 


When does Wreck Camp Registration Close?

Wreck Camp: ATL - June 4, 2021 

Wreck Camp: HIVE - June 22, 2021

Wreck Camp: Odyssey - July 25, 2021 

All camp's registration closes (15) business days prior to the camp start date

To help ensure the safety of all students, staff, and campus partners, we are strongly recommending that you complete a COVID test(s)/vaccination prior to your arrival on campus, and wear a facial covering during our program. Extra safety precautions of our experiences include but are not limited to: cleaning each indoor space after each usage, sanitizer located in every space, and social distancing. As a reminder, due to COVID-19 these programs may be altered or canceled. Students who have registered will be notified if any changes have been made to either program.

*There will be a cap on how many students can attend each program. We will notify you if you have been placed on the waitlist for either program upon registering via email. Registrations are on a first come first serve basis*
