What is Wreck Camp: Odyssey?

Wreck Camp Odyssey is our flagship 4-day extended orientation experience that brings together new and current students to jumpstart their college experience in a fun summer-camp setting. Wreck Camp programs are designed to aid students in their transition to Georgia Tech by developing a diverse social network and strengthening their ties to the Institute through a combination of fun activities. Students leave all camp programs prepared to be an engaged member of our campus community. Wreck Camp Odyssey will take place off-campus at Camp Rock Eagle in Eatonton, Georgia.

 

Who can attend Wreck Camp Odyssey?

Georgia Tech is committed to providing all new students with the opportunities and information that will help them achieve their goals and be successful at the Institute. First-year students, transfer students, and new international students are invited to take part in the Wreck Camp experience. 

*Rising second-years are also able to attend this year's experiences, as last year's were canceled*

 

Cost Of Wreck Camp: Odyssey

Wreck Camp Odyssey costs $350 per student to attend. This includes all meals, lodging, socially distant transportation to and from camp, a bag and (2) t-shirts.

 

When does Wreck Camp: Odyssey Registration Close?

Wreck Camp: Odyssey - July 25, 2021 

All camp's registration closes (15) business days prior to the camp start date

 

Early Move-In (Wreck Camp: Odyssey)

Students attending Wreck Camp Odyssey have the opportunity to move into their Fall 2021 Residence Hall Assignment on August 10th, 2021 for an additional fee of $65 per night until the official Fall 2021 Residence Life move-in date. 

Early Arrivals (August 10, 2021): Please try to arrive at Georgia Tech's campus between the hours of 8 am-8 pm for check-in service. More information about this service will be provided via email closer to the registration end date. 

 

Travel Specific Information (Wreck Camp: Odyssey)

August 11, 2021 (Check-in begins at 8:45 am for Wreck Camp: Odyssey)

August 14, 2021 (We will arrive back to campus from Rock Eagle at 3:00 pm)

*COVID-19 and Safety Disclaimer*

To help ensure the safety of all students, staff, and campus partners, we are strongly recommending that you complete a COVID test(s)/vaccination prior to your arrival on campus, and wear a facial covering during our program. Extra safety precautions of our experiences include but are not limited to: cleaning each indoor space after each usage, sanitizer located in every space, and social distancing. As a reminder, due to COVID-19 these programs may be altered or canceled. Students who have registered will be notified if any changes have been made to either program.

*There will be a cap on how many students can attend each program. We will notify you if you have been placed on the waitlist for either program upon registering via email. Registrations are on a first come first serve basis*
