What is FASET?
FASET is your first opportunity to connect with the Georgia Tech community and build a sense of belonging before classes start. Throughout the day, you’ll meet fellow new students, talk with current students and staff, and learn about the resources, opportunities, and support available to help you succeed at Tech.
You’ll also meet with an academic advisor and register for your first semester of classes, but FASET is about more than building your schedule. It’s about making connections, finding your community, and starting your Georgia Tech journey with confidence.
FASET Spring 2027 Schedule

- Registration for the spring 2027 FASET session will open on October 30, 2026
- Students must submit their confirmation deposit in order to register for FASET
- Students are allowed to bring a maximum of (2) guests to in-person FASET sessions
Cost
The orientation fee covers all orientation materials and Week of Welcome activities.
- In-person FASET session: $155 per student
- Virtual FASET session: $100 per student
- Guests at in-person sessions: $90 per guest, regardless of age
Guests
Students may bring up to two guests to an in-person FASET session.
Day-of Registration
Students and guests who arrive at FASET without registering in advance can register on site at the Day-of Registration line. A $25 late registration fee applies. This fee is charged once per student account, no matter how many people are added that day.
Billing and Payment
You won’t be charged when you register for your FASET session. FASET fees are added to your Georgia Tech student account later and are due with your other student fees. Please note that the HOPE Scholarship and other scholarships don’t cover the orientation fee. Visit the Bursar’s Office website for the fee payment calendar.
Reservation Cancellations
Canceling Your FASET Registration
If you can no longer attend FASET, you must cancel your registration at least 10 business days before your session. Business days are days Georgia Tech is officially open, not counting weekends and holidays.
To cancel, email transitionprograms@studentlife.gatech.edu. Cancellations must be submitted in writing directly from the student. Requests from parents, family members, or anyone other than the student will not be accepted.
If you don’t cancel in time, the FASET fee will still be charged to your student account.
If You Miss Your FASET Session
If you don’t attend your scheduled FASET session, your time ticket, which sets when you can register for classes, will be canceled. To get a new time ticket, contact your academic advisor and schedule a meeting.
If You’re Not Enrolling at Georgia Tech
Please update your application in the Application Status Portal. For more information, visit the Undergraduate Admission website.
Canceling your application with Undergraduate Admission does not cancel your FASET registration. You’ll still need to cancel FASET by email using the steps above to avoid being charged.

- All in-person FASET sessions will include a Resource Fair, with the exception of the FYSA session.
- All in-person FASET sessions, with the exception of the 5/11 Summer Transfer, 6/25 Summer FY - Ignite, and 7/14 FYSA sessions, will offer the registered student on-campus housing on the night prior to their session for an additional cost. (Guests of students must secure their own housing accommodations)
- Students are allowed to bring a maximum of (2) guests to in-person FASET sessions, except for the Ignite session in June, which is STUDENT-ONLY
- The FYSA session will follow a modified schedule, with check-in beginning at 9:45am.
- If you are seeking to be considered for another session that is full, you will need to submit a change of session request through your FASET portal.
*The July 22 session is recommended for International students at it has a 9am EDT start time in order to accommodate students in the eastern hemisphere.
Overnight Housing
All in-person FASET Sessions, with the exception of 5/11 Summer Transfer, 6/25 Summer FY - Ignite, and 7/14 FYSA sessions, will offer the registered student on-campus housing on the night prior to their session for an additional cost of $70. If a student needs additional accommodations for overnight housing other than the evening before their session, please contact Melissa Scott with Conference Services for more information.
Guests who will be also be arriving the night before FASET will need to make other arrangements as they are not permitted to stay overnight in the residence halls. Please visit our travel recommendations page for further information about lodging and travel.
Immunization Requirements
All new Georgia Tech students must submit immunization records to meet the University System of Georgia Board of Regents immunization policy. We recommend working with your family physician or Stamps Health Services to gather your records early.
