Directions From I-75/85

I-75/I-85 N

  1. Take I-75 N/I-85 N to exit 249D towards Spring St/ W Peachtree St.
  2. Cross over Spring St. and take the left onto W Peachtree St.
  3. Turn left down North Ave.
  4. Follow North Ave past the Varsity onto Georgia Tech's Campus.
  5. Turn right onto Tech Pkwy NW.
  6. Turn right onto Regents Dr (in front of Georgia Institute of Technology sign).
  7. Turn right onto Ferst Dr at the light.
  8. The John Lewis Student Center parking deck will be on your left.

I-75 South

  1. Take I-75 S toward Atlanta.
  2. Take exit 249D towards North Ave/ Georgia Tech.

  1. Take I-85 S toward Atlanta.
  2. Continue on I-85 S toward Techwood Dr. NW
  3. Continue on to merge of I-85 and I-75.
  4. Take exit 249D towards North Ave/Georgia Tech.
  5. Turn right onto North Ave.
  6. Turn right onto Tech Pkwy NW.
  7. Turn right onto Regents Dr (in front of Georgia Institute of Technology sign).
  8. Turn right onto Ferst Dr at the light.
  9. The John Lewis Student Center parking deck will be on your left.

Directions From Hartsfield-Jackson Airport

Via MARTA

You may choose to use Atlanta's public transportation system, MARTA. There is a rail station located inside the airport. This service offers the quickest and most inexpensive way to get to Georgia Tech. All trains leaving the airport travel north toward Georgia Tech. The Airport Station is located near the baggage claim area at the north end of the airport. Trains leave approximately every 10 minutes. The cost of one MARTA ride (one way) is $2.50, and Breeze cards may be purchased at the station. Please remember to hold on to your Breeze card, which will be needed to exit the station.

Georgia Tech’s campus is located near the Midtown and North Avenue rail stations on the Gold and Red Lines. Tech's Gold route Stinger bus provides direct service from campus to the Midtown Station’s Peachtree Place entrance. Stinger service is not provided to the North Avenue Station. North Avenue Station
  1. After exiting the station, walk three blocks west on North Avenue to campus (crossing over the interstate).
  2. After passing the football stadium, continue up the sidewalk to Cherry St.
  3. Turn right onto Cherry St. walking towards Ferst Drive intersection.
  4. Turn left onto Ferst Drive. 
  5. Follow Ferst Drive until you arrive at the John Lewis Student Center & Smithgall building entrance.
Midtown Station
  1. Exit the station at Peachtree Place and catch the Gold route Stinger bus to campus.
  2. Remain on the bus until arriving at the Student Center stop (across from our Student Center).
  3. Exit the bus and cross the street into the John Lewis Student Center & Smithgall building parking lot.

In additional to rail service via North Avenue Station or Midtown Station, the following bus routes are convenient to the Student Center:

  • Bus 12 via Northside Parkway and Howell Mill Road in West Midtown
  • Bus 36 via North Decatur Road/Emory University/Virginia Highlands
  • Bus 27 via Cheshire Bridge Road and Piedmont/14th Street
  • Bus 99 via Boulevard, Monroe Drive and 10th Street around Piedmont Park
Via Taxi

Take a cab through downtown Atlanta to the Georgia Tech Campus. Cab fare is approximately $35.

Via Rideshare Services (i.e. Uber/Lyft)

After collecting your bags at baggage claim, you will follow signs to the rideshare pick-up lot. It is about a 5 minute walk to their designated pickup area. It is recommended to wait to order your ride, until you have arrived at the pick-up location. Fare is approximately $35.

Please note, it is not recommended to accept rides from anyone soliciting rides.

Construction Update

Campus roads will be under construction for several months in Spring 2024. Visitors to New Student and Transition Programs are encouraged to visit campus by taking North Avenue. Heading west along North Avenue (the stadium is on the right), please travel to State Street and take a right onto State Street. At the stop sign, take a left onto Tech Parkway. At light, take a right onto Regents Drive. At the next light, take a right onto Ferst Drive. Take a left into the W02 Parking Deck. Take a ticket from the gate. If you are attending on a FASET session day, a parking pass will be given to you at check-in. Please bring ticket with you to check-in at Smithgall Student Services Building.
