Due to the Monday, June 19, 2023 state holiday (Juneteenth), Georgia Tech will be closed that day to observe. Consequently, summer housing move-in and FASET session schedules are impacted.  

Summer Housing Move-in 

To ensure a smooth move-in process for everyone, students within a reasonable driving distance are invited to drop off all their belongings for their summer assignment on Friday, June 16. Students will not stay on campus over the long weekend but will return on Tuesday, June 20, and pick up their keys after the morning FASET session to continue settling into their room. Students who are unable to drop off their belongings on Friday will move into their rooms on the morning of Tuesday, June 20, prior to attending the afternoon FASET session. We highly recommend the Friday drop-off option. Housing and Residence Life has secured fixed rates at the nearby Hilton Garden Inn, Atlanta Midtown, for iGniTe students and their families who would like to stay in Atlanta after moving their belongings into the residence hall. iGniTe families can book June 16-20, 2023, at $119 per night. FASET 

For FASET, students and guests will have two half-day opportunities to attend to get them ready for summer. On Tuesday, June 13, and Wednesday, June 14, two virtual sessions will be offered. Students will be able to meet their FASET leader and their academic advisor and register for their summer classes. The virtual sessions will last from 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. 

On Tuesday, June 20, two half-day in-person sessions will be offered so students and their guests can get to know the Georgia Tech community better. A wide variety of speakers will present on topics that will assist in the transition into life at Tech. There will also be time for questions and answers. The full schedule for this day will be released later. 

How will this work for FASET registration? 

Students who can drop off their items on Friday, June 16, should register for the FASET session on Tuesday, June 13. This also registers them for the morning session on Tuesday, June 20. Students who need to move in on Tuesday, June 20, should register for the Wednesday, June 14 session, and they will be registered for the afternoon session on Tuesday, June 20. Students from the greater Atlanta area should consider dropping their items on Friday, June 16, and moving in on the afternoon of Tuesday, June 20.
