“As someone who worked in orientation at my undergraduate institution, I wanted a NODA experience that would help me expand my knowledge of transition programs and help me assess if this was a functional area I want to pursue after graduation. Working with the professional staff and students to facilitate both FASET and Wreck Camp helped me gain insight into the importance of creating meaningful transition programs and promoting a culture of servant leadership for our students. My time as an NSTP intern exceeded my expectations for a summer internship experience and affirmed my decision to pursue a career in student leadership and orientation programs.”

"Working at Georgia Tech was the best decision I could’ve made when determining a summer internship. Not only was I able to learn from passionate and encouraging professionals, but I was surrounded by student leaders who worked hard and cared deeply for the service they provide for incoming students. Georgia Tech is unique in its ability to cultivate a strong university community, an extraordinary academic environment, and a love for institutional traditions and those values can be seen the second you step foot on campus. My NODA experience truly exceeded my expectations and I have grown so much as a professional because of my time with FASET Orientation and Wreck Camp."

I walked into the summer feeling burnt out from the school year. The Georgia Tech internship was exactly what I needed. My best piece of advice is to just show up. By showing up I was able to create relationships with professionals across campus, mentor and learn from my students, bring ideas to the table, and create incredible memories. I felt so valued as a professional and had the best support system through it all. I'd do it all over again and again!

A summer at Georgia Tech is everything you can ask for in an internship experience. Between the experienced professional staff and the incredible student staff, you will be surrounded by people who truly care about every incoming student's experience. I appreciated the opportunity to gain experience in all areas of the transition process. I would not give up my time at Tech for anything!

Brooke Morrissy, Texas A&M University (2019)

I absolutely LOVED my internship experience at Georgia Tech. The NODA experience helped me grow as a professional and gave me both extended orientation and orientation experience. I particularly enjoyed working with a high-achieving student population, gaining a wide variety of skills, having a co-intern, and exploring Atlanta. When I look back, I can truly say it was one of my favorite summers!

My NODA experience at Georgia Tech was simply life-changing. The staff and students truly believe in the mission of the office and work to ensure that every student feels a sense of belonging at GT. Outside of the day to day work, you can always find something to do in the city. If you are thinking about applying, do it. The best summer of your life is right in front of you.

Joey Tamburo, Penn State (2018)

Honestly, it is literally impossible to describe my summer experience at Georgia Tech with words. Let me just say that this was the most awesome internship in the world and it was everything I dreamed of and more. From the amazing staff, to the wonderful students, to the awesome programs, I had such an amazing summer. The professional staff and students had a genuine interest in me, they greeted me with open arms and wanted to learn so much about me. Georgia Tech gave me the chance to not only experience new student orientation, but extended orientation too, which not many NODA internships offer that opportunity. All of those great experiences gave me skills that I can take back to graduate school and to my career. I was able to do and learn so much that I feel I grew professionally and gained so much. I now know that I want to get back into working with Orientation and cannot wait to see where my life takes me. Working at Georgia Tech this summer as a NODA Intern was one of the best experiences of my life that I would not trade for the world.

Working in the New Student and Transition Programs Office at Georgia Tech was an amazing summer experience. From the students to the staff, everyone was absolutely authentic and a true pleasure to work with. Tim, Jordan, Dean Jennings, and the entire FASET staff will have you knowing the meaning of FLOVE by the end of your summer experience. As someone who was unsure about applying for a NODA internship, I am so happy to say that I would not have traded this summer for anything else. If you are even on the fence about applying, I would encourage you to go for it! This was a summer full of growth and I have Georgia Tech to thank for that!

Nikki Cooper, University of Nebraska Lincoln (2018)

My NODA internship at Georgia Tech was truly an experience of a lifetime full of challenges, growth, and a supportive community. The students and staff made me feel like a Yellow Jacket from day one and I could not be more thankful for their continued support the entire summer. The learning curve was quick, we dove into all things FASET, and the supervision paired with encouragement and enthusiasm challenged me to a great understanding of orientation and student affairs. I grew more as a professional and person with each FASET, all while creating connections with the students and staff. Georgia Tech has a remarkable group of students to work with, making it that much more difficult to leave when the summer was over. I am always going to remember the connections made and lessons learned with a smile.
